The Musical Journey

At Heyday we’ve taken time to design what we believe is the most effective music learning journey for every age and stage. We want to set you up for success!

Music in Motion (3-5 year olds)

Our Music in Motion Group Classes create a wonderful learning environment for 3-5 year olds. Each class is a 45 minute interactive exploration of both music and motion. Children will explore rhythm, tone, movement and pitch through singing, dancing, playing instruments and games. Semester runs September 2 - December 20 with no classes the week of Thanksgiving.

3-5 years ($45/mo)

Friday: 10-10:45am (Fall 2024)

Private Music Lessons (5 year olds & up)

At Heyday, we offer Private Music Lessons for Piano, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Drums, Bass, and Voice. At age 5 years old, we recommend and encourage students to embark upon their one on one lessons with a Music Mentor that can help guide and coach them along the way. These sessions consist of weekly one on one 30 minute or 60 minute lessons with a Music Mentor. We offer a music education that allows our students to become proficient in both sight reading & playing by ear. Best of all, each enrolled student receives the opportunity to record songs they’ve accomplished in our Heyday Recording Studio.

We use a hybrid of both traditional and modern learning techniques. Our students learn both the fundamentals of music (ie: Site Reading, Tempos, Musical Theory) as well as learning to play by ear, play along with background tracks, and record songs they’ve accomplished in the Heyday Recording Studio. We want lessons to be fun, engaging, and for students to become life long learners of Music! 30 minute weekly lessons are $88/month. Each student averages 4 to 5 lessons per month. Click on the Enroll Now button below to schedule your lesson time.

  • WITHDRAWAL AND REFUNDS
To withdraw from lessons or classes, the parent or guardian responsible for tuition must email Heyday Music & Dance before the end of the day on the 8th of the month. This will serve as written notification & instruct Heyday Music & Dance not to charge the account on the 1st of the following month. This is a month to month agreement, where we ask that you give us approximately 3 weeks’ notice of your stopping classes. There is no refund for any unused classes. Heyday Music & Dance, reserves the right to terminate classes for any student without notice. In such a case, a refund for unused classes will be given.
  • MISSED CLASSES
If a missed group class is offered at an additional time, students may attend another class to make up for the missed class. Group classes can only be made up in the same session that the class is missed. Please email ahead to schedule a make-up class. No tuition reimbursements will be given for missed classes.
  • SUBSTITUTIONS
Heyday Music & Dance will provide a substitute teacher if the scheduled teacher is unable to attend a class.
  • RELEASE OF LIABILITY
Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on Heyday Music & Dance property resulting from normal class activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.

  • WHAT TYPE OF DANCE FLOOR DO WE USE?
Dance is a very physical activity that requires a lot of jumping, which can put stress on bones and joints. The best way to prevent against potential injury is by choosing a studio with a professional "Marley" floor." A vinyl composite “marley” floor is accepted worldwide as the best surface layer for recreational to professional dance. A marley floor allows dancers to slide, with a degree of “controlled slip", but is not slippery so there is less risk of slips and falls.
  • WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE CLASS?
When a dance class has fewer students in it, each child receives more personalized attention, learns more and has more fun. With younger students it is easier for a teacher to maintain control over the class and make sure each student understands the concepts and instructions. Our smaller class sizes make sure that no fundamental concepts are being missed. A smaller class also allows our teachers to ensure that students are not developing bad habits or improper technique. All our dance classes max at 8 students per class.
  • HOW LONG IS A DANCE CLASS?
Dance classes for 6-7yrs & ages 7yrs and older will include about 55 minutes of instruction and, our Tiny Dancers classes all include approximately 40 minutes of instruction. All dance classes use the last 5 minutes of class for warming down, changing shoes & exiting the dance studio before the next class begins. If a student arrives late, they must quietly enter the studio & wait for the teacher to tell them it is ok to join the class. Students who arrive 10 minutes or more late are not guaranteed they will be allowed to join the class right away.
  • WHAT SHOULD STUDENTS WEAR TO DANCE CLASS?
Best of Broadway: Students will need jazz shoes & comfortable clothes they can move freely in. Tiny Dancers: Dancers will need ballet shoes. Leotards, tights & tutus are optional. Combo Dance Class: Dancers will need pink or black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes & tap shoes. (Skirts over leotards are optional) Music in Motion: Students may wear socks or jazz shoes. (No street shoes allowed in the dance studio) Hip Hop: Students may wear sweats, t-shirts, and tennis shoes with laces. Dancers will often do floor work and this is why long stretchy pants are needed.
