The Musical Journey
At Heyday we’ve taken time to design what we believe is the most effective music learning journey for every age and stage. We want to set you up for success!
Music in Motion (3-5 year olds)
Our Music in Motion Group Classes create a wonderful learning environment for 3-5 year olds. Each class is a 45 minute interactive exploration of both music and motion. Teaching music to young children is a great way to start a student’s love of music early on. Music makes children happy and keeps learning fun and exciting! Just as a song can calm your child, it can also lift them up. At Heyday, we lean into the music as an enjoyable means of self-expression, and to be reminded of how great it feels to move your body, bop your head, and wiggle to music without reservation! Music in Motion is a wonderful first step in your child’s musical journey. Click on the Enroll Now button below to Register for a Free Trial Class & to view our upcoming Fall Schedule.

Together We Rock! (6-7 year olds)
Heyday Group Instrument Classes for 6-7yr old’s
Combo Class Piano/Guitar/Percussion
Once your child reaches the age of 6 years old, we recommend they enroll in our Together We Rock weekly sessions. Together We Rock are Group Instrument Classes designed specifically for 6-7 year olds. TWR classes are 45 min in length, once a week, and classes consist of 2 to 4 students. Maybe your child is interested in guitar. Maybe you, the parent, want them to learn the piano or possibly they just want to beat on a drum. Well, TWC group classes provide the best of all worlds. At Heyday, we believe the best learning environment for this age and stage is a small group class that allows the student to explore three different instruments: piano, acoustic guitar, and percussion. This will allow both the student and the parents to have a better understanding of each instrument which ultimately will lead to discovering the instrument that you want your child to dive into as you begin your one on one, private lessons which begin at age 8.
Children under the age of 8 have a hard time playing the acoustic guitar for longer that 10 minutes due to the strings pressing into the fingers. We also find that students who are younger than 8 have a more challenging time focusing on one instrument for more than 15 minutes at a time. This class keeps the student engaged and interested throughout the lesson time. If a student can enjoy their lesson time, they will in turn, enjoy music, and want to continue becoming the musician they were created to be.

Private Music Lessons (5 year olds & up)
At age 8 years old, we recommend and encourage students to embark upon their one on one lessons with a Music Mentor that can help guide and coach them along the way. However, if you're under the age of 8 years old, and ready to dive into private lessons, we are here for you! These sessions consist of weekly one on one 30 minute or 60 minute lessons with a Music Mentor. At Heyday you get to choose your musical path! Whether it be Rock, Classical or Worship we have you covered. We offer a music education that allows our students to become proficient in both sight reading & playing by ear. Best of all, each enrolled student receives the opportunity to record songs they’ve accomplished in our Heyday Recording Studio. We use a hybrid of both traditional and modern learning techniques. Our students learn both the fundamentals of music (ie: Site Reading, Tempos, Musical Theory) as well as learning to play by ear, play along with background tracks, and record songs they’ve accomplished in the Heyday Recording Studio. We want lessons to be fun, engaging, and for students to become life long learners of Music! Click on the Enroll Now button below to schedule your lesson time.

WHAT TYPE OF DANCE FLOOR DO WE USE?Dance is a very physical activity that requires a lot of jumping, which can put stress on bones and joints. The best way to prevent against potential injury is by choosing a studio with a professional "Marley" floor." A vinyl composite “marley” floor is accepted worldwide as the best surface layer for recreational to professional dance. A marley floor allows dancers to slide, with a degree of “controlled slip", but is not slippery so there is less risk of slips and falls.
-
WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE CLASS?When a dance class has fewer students in it, each child receives more personalized attention, learns more and has more fun. With younger students it is easier for a teacher to maintain control over the class and make sure each student understands the concepts and instructions. Our smaller class sizes make sure that no fundamental concepts are being missed. A smaller class also allows our teachers to ensure that students are not developing bad habits or improper technique. All our dance classes max at 8 students per class.
-
HOW LONG IS A DANCE CLASS?Dance classes for 6-7yrs & ages 7yrs and older will include about 55 minutes of instruction and, our Tiny Dancers classes all include approximately 40 minutes of instruction. All dance classes use the last 5 minutes of class for warming down, changing shoes & exiting the dance studio before the next class begins. If a student arrives late, they must quietly enter the studio & wait for the teacher to tell them it is ok to join the class. Students who arrive 10 minutes or more late are not guaranteed they will be allowed to join the class right away.

WHAT SHOULD STUDENTS WEAR TO DANCE CLASS?Best of Broadway: Students will need jazz shoes & comfortable clothes they can move freely in. Tiny Dancers: Dancers will need ballet shoes.
